Our Promise

At Souvenir, we believe the way you present yourself is just as important as the way you perform.

Everything you read about us here on our website or indeed on our social channels has to stand up to the test of being honest. We won’t exaggerate our achievements or rely on vague or superlative marketing language.

We believe audiences deserve honesty. The music of OMD earned its place in the hearts of their fans through talent, creativity, and authenticity. We think a tribute should be built on the same values.

Whenever possible, rather than tell you, we’d sooner show you what we’re about through videos of our performances, genuine audience feedback, and a clear explanation of how we recreate OMD’s music. We encourage a healthy curiosity about all marketing, ours included.

Have you ever read a bold claim and wondered, “what does that actually mean?” Is it specific? Is it something verifiable? We think those are fair questions, and ones we’re happy to be asked.

Our aim is to become a tribute band people want to see again and again. We won’t get there by making outrageous claims about our show that we can’t back up under scrutiny or when it comes to the event.

We also believe in authenticity on stage. For us, authenticity isn’t about making something look real. It’s about being honest about what we’re actually doing.

We play our instruments live on stage. We also looked for a keyboard player when we started out, couldn’t find one and decided to move forward with the line-up as it is today. We weren’t prepared to throw away all the time, effort, money and passion we’d already put into this show just because we hadn’t found the right person to join us.

Of course, we could easily have someone stand behind a keyboard for appearances but that’s not authentic and insults our audience’s intelligence. If you prefer a tribute with a keyboard on stage, you may simply enjoy other approaches more than ours. We’re fine with that.

And ultimately, we’re not trying to reproduce OMD down to the last musician, instrument and stage position. If that were the goal, there is already an OMD.

We’re Souvenir, two musicians who love OMD’s music and have created our own live show around it.

This is our promise.
